Terms of Service
These terms apply when you book a taxi through our app or website (the "Service"). By creating an account or making a booking you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.
1. Who we are
The Service is provided by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], registration number (V-tal) [V-TAL], [STREET ADDRESS], [POSTCODE TOWN], Faroe Islands. Email: [EMAIL]. Phone: [PHONE]. We are referred to as "we" and "us".
2. The Service
The Service lets you request taxi rides driven by our licensed drivers in the Faroe Islands. A booking is a request until our office confirms it. We may decline a booking, for example when no car is available at the time you asked for, and we tell you why in the app. A confirmed booking is a contract for the ride described in it: the pickup, the destination, the time, the number of passengers and the price shown.
A flight booking follows the flight: if the airline moves the flight, we move the pickup to match the new expected time and tell you in the app.
3. Your account
You need an account to book. You sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook or a code sent to your email. You must give a real name and a phone number the driver can reach you on. You are responsible for bookings made from your signed-in devices, and you must sign out on a device you no longer control. You must be at least 18 to hold an account; younger passengers travel on a booking made by an adult.
4. Prices
Every price is shown in Danish kroner (DKK), including VAT where it applies, before you confirm a booking.
- Fixed price. Some rides are offered at a fixed price. That price is what you pay, provided the pickup, the destination and the number of passengers stay as booked.
- Metered rides. Other rides are charged by the taximeter according to our published rate card. The app shows an estimated range beforehand; the final price is the meter's. Waiting time asked for by you is charged by the rate card where it says so.
- Larger parties. A party that needs a larger car, or more than one car, is told so and priced accordingly before booking.
- Extras. Tolls, ferry fares and similar costs incurred on your instruction are added at cost.
5. Payment
All prices are final. Bookings made in the app are paid in the app, through our payment provider ePay, when you book; card and wallet details are handled by ePay and never reach us. A prepaid trip covers the pre-booked destination only.
6. If we cannot provide the ride
If we cannot carry out a confirmed booking, we tell you as early as we can and refund it in full. Our liability for a ride we fail to provide is limited to the price of that ride, unless mandatory law gives you more. We are not liable for loss caused by weather, road or tunnel closures, ferry schedules, traffic or other events outside our control, nor for missed connections, flights or appointments.
7. During the ride
Passengers must follow the driver's reasonable instructions, use seat belts, and must not smoke or consume alcohol in the car. Children travel in approved seats where the law requires it; tell us when booking so a suitable car is sent. The driver may refuse or end a ride when a passenger is abusive, intoxicated to the point of being a danger, or endangers the car or others; the fare for the part driven is still due. You are liable for damage to the car or soiling caused by you or your party, charged at the cost of repair or cleaning.
8. Luggage and lost property
Ordinary luggage travels free. Tell us when booking about bulky items, bicycles, pets or wheelchairs, so a suitable car is sent. Items found in a car are kept at the office for a reasonable time; contact us to collect them.
9. Complaints
If something went wrong, write to [EMAIL] with the booking reference within 14 days of the ride. We answer within 14 days. A consumer who is not satisfied with our answer may bring the complaint to the Faroese consumer complaints board (Kærunevndin í brúkaramálum) or to the courts of the Faroe Islands.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The current version is always at this address, with its date at the top. A booking is governed by the terms in force when it was made.
11. Law and venue
These terms are governed by the law of the Faroe Islands. Disputes are settled by the courts of the Faroe Islands, unless mandatory consumer law allows you to go elsewhere.
